Be Part of Our Vibrant Afternoons!

Emily Grove, Director of Extended Day
Every afternoon in Extended Day, after we’ve all refueled with a snack, kids have the opportunity to unwind, socialize, create, energize, and be a part of a vibrant selection of activities with their Extended Day teachers. And let me tell you, these kids are pros at making the most out of their afternoon.

Amelia, Katherine, and Izaak have been working alongside our Younger Extended Day students by spending time crafting, building, and playing soccer together. Hanna, Fiona, and Thaddeuss join our Middle & Older Extended Day students in the library for socializing, homework, and board games. Meanwhile, Katie and I float throughout our groups to make sure everyone has a great time!

We’ve introduced some exciting new extracurricular programs this year as well as brought back some all-time favorites. I’m biased, but I can’t help feeling the most excited about our first ever school musical: Finding Nemo KIDS. The students rocked it! Singing, dancing, acting. Light cues, sounds cues, costume changes. All of it came to fruition because of the passion and dedication within our cast and crew! We are looking forward to bringing this program back next fall.

This winter, we are continuing a slate of new and returning extracurricular programs. Art Studio Club with Iris is back on Thursdays. Students have the chance to work on projects of their choice while Iris supports them with their creative vision. We’ll also have volume 2 of our Code Ninjas classes. Returning coders can build on their skills from the fall, and new coders can start class at a level suited to their skillset. Plus, some extra special offerings with Fiona and Hanna are on the horizon: Winter Dance with Fiona and Fiber Arts & Crafts with Hanna. Amidst it all, our 5-8 basketball teams will continue practicing diligently for their season. Stay tuned for a full schedule of games in the new year.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year has in store. As always, if you ever have any questions about our Extended Day or Extracurricular Programs, please reach out to me
