Since the Coronavirus shutdown, I’ve realized that I actually am missing school. As much as my friends and I used to complain, we’d all give anything to be back at Fayerweather right now. You don’t always realize what you have until it’s gone, and often take things for granted.
Like the third and fourth grade. I look back now at the amount of time I spent overthinking and worrying, and I see now that it made me forget how much fun I was actually having in those years. To be honest, third and fourth grade were some of the best years of my life. If only I could go back and tell the younger me to stop being so anxious about what other people think and to just appreciate the freedom of being a child. I would also let my teachers know how much they meant to me, and how their lessons stuck with me throughout the years. Even though time travel is not possible, I’m taking this chance now to tell Aaron and Diana about the impact they have made in my life, as have so many other teachers and friends at Fayerweather.

"Writing intros has been harder than usual this year, for the same
predictable reason that everything is harder this year. There are so
many wonderful things about you that I want to highlight here, and I’ve
been searching for a framing device to hang all of them on..."
